About Us
Welcome to Morning Star Montessori
At Morning Star Montessori, we strive to give your child a well-balanced Montessori education at all levels of development, for each child to gain the ability to solve challenges, to use freedom wisely, to respect himself/herself and others, and to take joy in learning and living.
We see each child as an individual and take our responsibility to help your child in building the foundations for a lifetime of creative learning very seriously.
The activities and environment provided by Morning Star Montessori stimulate and help develop a love of learning, an abiding curiosity in one's surroundings and a desire to discover and do things for oneself.
Curriculum
Beyond the 12 years age group the Cambridge curriculum is followed through online learning supported by dedicated facilitator/s. This offers and international, quality, uniform standard combined with an outstanding ethos accepted throughout the world.
Montessori education pedagogy best serves the interests of accepted developmental norms of children as they grow up. MSM Primary therefore follow the Montessori AMI Approved Curriculum for children of 6-12 years.
Montessori’s track record over the past 100 years, in use all over the world, and the thousands of successful men and women the system produced will stand as our guiding light as we guide the children in our care.
Culture & Beliefs
Since Morning Star is a place where all children and adults alike show deep respect towards each other, this includes the cultures, beliefs and other differences that each individual displays. Religion is one of these areas.
The festivals of all major religions are discussed and often celebrated when appropriate, for example, Christmas, Diwali, Eid and Easter, and parents are welcome to participate. No religious studies are taught at Morning Star.

Morning Star is a founding member of the Southern African Montessori Association (SAMA), a body that ensures quality standards in Montessori schools throughout SA. Morning Star's Principal, Jenny Miller is a past president of SAMA.
